This three-day safari combines classic wildlife viewing in Amboseli National Park with the more intimate atmosphere of the surrounding conservancy. From a wildlife-rich camp setting and guided walking experience to a full day among the elephants, a sundowner beneath the Kilimanjaro skyline, and a bush breakfast in the wilderness, this journey captures the distinctive character of Amboseli.
OPTIONAL EXPERIENCE: HOT-AIR BALLOON SAFARI
For guests seeking a different perspective of Amboseli, an early-morning hot-air balloon safari may be arranged.
Float above the plains as the sun rises, taking in the vast landscape, wildlife and, weather permitting, views towards Mount Kilimanjaro. The experience is followed by a bush breakfast before continuing with the day’s programme.

Daily Itinerary FROM NAIROBI TO AMBOSELI – INTO THE ELEPHANT COUNTRY
Your journey begins with an early morning pickup from Koinange Street, Mercantile House. Depart Nairobi and travel south towards Amboseli, passing through the changing landscapes of Kenya's southern plains.
Continue towards Praro Amboseli Camp, located within the surrounding conservancy. Upon arrival, settle into your tented accommodation and enjoy lunch while taking in the peaceful camp surroundings.
One of the distinctive features of Praro is its natural wildlife dam, which attracts wildlife to the camp surroundings. Depending on the season and wildlife movements, you may have opportunities to observe elephants and other animals from the camp area itself. The camp also offers views towards Mount Kilimanjaro, weather permitting.
In the afternoon, head out for your first Amboseli game drive through the surrounding conservancy. Experience the quieter side of the ecosystem as you search for elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffaloes and other plains wildlife.
Later, enjoy a guided walking experience within the conservancy, accompanied by an experienced local guide. Instead of viewing Amboseli only from a safari vehicle, this experience allows you to slow down and appreciate animal tracks, birdlife, plants and the smaller details of the landscape.
As evening approaches, return to camp for dinner and time around the campfire.

Daily Itinerary THE AMBOSELI WILDERNESS – ELEPHANTS, WETLANDS & KILIMANJARO
Wake early and enjoy breakfast before setting out for a full day inside Amboseli National Park.
Today's safari is dedicated to discovering the park's different habitats. Drive across the open plains and towards the wetlands, where underground water systems associated with Kilimanjaro sustain areas of permanent water and attract wildlife even when the surrounding landscape appears dry.
Spend time observing Amboseli's famous elephant herds, while also looking for lions, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, hippos and the park's diverse birdlife.
Continue towards Observation Hill, one of the park's signature viewpoints. From here, take in the expansive Amboseli landscape, including the wetlands, plains and surrounding ecosystem. On a clear day, the elevated viewpoint provides an impressive perspective towards Mount Kilimanjaro.
Around midday, enjoy a picnic lunch at a designated location before continuing your afternoon exploration.
As the afternoon light softens, move towards an appropriate scenic location for an Amboseli sundowner. Watch the landscape change colour as the sun drops across the plains, with Mount Kilimanjaro potentially visible in the distance when conditions are clear.
Return to Praro Amboseli Camp in the evening for dinner and relaxation.

Daily Itinerary ELEPHANT COUNTRY AT DAWN – BUSH BREAKFAST & MAASAI HERITAGE
Wake before sunrise and depart for an early-morning game drive.
This is your final opportunity to experience Amboseli at its quietest, when the morning light begins to spread across the plains and wildlife becomes active. Search for elephants moving between feeding areas, predators beginning their day and other wildlife emerging from the night's shelter.
If weather conditions are favorable, the early morning also offers one of the best opportunities for views of Mount Kilimanjaro. The mountain's visibility varies with cloud and weather conditions, making each morning different.
After the game drive, leave the vehicle behind at a suitable location and enjoy an authentic bush breakfast surrounded by the Amboseli landscape. Take time to enjoy breakfast in the open air before beginning the journey out of the wilderness.
Return to Praro Amboseli Camp to freshen up and complete check-out.
The journey then continues with a Maasai cultural experience in the surrounding community. Meet local Maasai hosts, learn about their traditional way of life, livestock-based culture, beadwork and relationship with the Amboseli ecosystem. Cultural experiences around Amboseli provide an opportunity to understand how local communities and wildlife share the wider landscape.
After the cultural experience, begin the journey back to Nairobi with an en-route lunch before continuing the drive.
Arrival in Nairobi is expected in the late afternoon, marking the end of your Amboseli safari.
